In April of 2012, President Obama signed the JOBS Act into law, authorizing crowdfunding of equity and debt for the sake of creating jobs. I recently attended the North Carolina Main Street Conference in Salisbury, N.C., where speaker Todd Barman introduced us to the term “Locavesting”. He recommended a book by this title written by award-winning journalist Amy Cortese.
