 About Prosper:

Prosper is America’s first peer-to-peer lending marketplace, with more than 2 million members and over $3,000,000,000 in funded loans. Prosper allows people to invest in each other in a way that is financially and socially rewarding. On Prosper, borrowers list loan requests between $2,000 and $35,000 and individual lenders invest as little as $25 in each loan listing they select. Prosper handles the servicing of the loan on behalf of the matched borrowers and investors.

The AlwaysOn take:

Peer-to-peer lending has become an integral solution in today’s modern American economy, where Prosper is ideally positioned as a unanimous leader in the FinTech space. Propser’s proprietary credit scoring enhances much needed transparency into credit risk, making it easy for borrowers to obtain fair rates and investors to understand competitive returns. They offer a number of lending packages that fit a range of investment criteria and asset classes to help reduce market vulnerability. Prosper initially built its brand as a marketplace for personal and debt consolidation loans, but is now capitalizing on niche verticals from home improvement and auto financing to elected medical and green loans. They are tackling an issue mostly prompted by the 2008 financial crisis, which is to help individuals and businesses obtain loans; and lenders to make larger returns than what they earn from bank deposits.

Hats off to Prosper Marketplace for winning the OnFinance 2015 Company of the Year!
