BOLTKEY launches Kickstarter Campaign to protect your Digital Life: Guardian

Crowdfunding Beat News wire
Digital Life Innovator, Boltkey has partnered with Kickstarter to launch its revolutionary product, the Guardian, the first device dedicated to securing, protecting and enabling you to take control of your Digital Life

HONG KONG | SHANGHAI | SAN FRANCISCO, August 29 2014 – BoltKey launched THE GUARDIAN, the worlds first digital life safe, on Kickstarter earlier this week with a target of raising $20,000.

A limited quantity of THE GUARDIAN is current available for $199, a significant discount to the regular retail price.

THE GUARDIAN is the first product designed to be your digital life safe giving you complete ownership of your valuable data such as photos, messages and documents, meaning you no longer need to trust the cloud. THE GUARDIAN enables you to back up every file from your smartphone, tablet and computer, effortlessly, automatically and from anywhere giving you total piece of mind that your digital life is safe in case of a disaster. THE GUARDIAN uses military grade encryption to protect every file and only you, the owner, can access your files using our patented Boltkey hardware token.

The Video details the BOLTKEY team’s passion for addressing the challenges presented by our expanding digital lives. We recognized our digital lives are the extremely valuable files, photos and messages we create, share and store everyday. However, very few us protect them from a disaster such as loss, theft or device failure and instead entrust them to 3rd parties such as Icloud, Google or Dropbox. BOLTKEY believes YOU should own your valuable data so set out to create the GUARDIAN which enables you to do just this.

“We were blown away by the number of people who do not realize they are not in control of some of their most valuable digital assets, so we set out to create something to protect everyone and give them that ultimate piece of mind,” said Joe Johnson, co-founder of Boltkey “ We developed a product that you can keep at home, much like a safe, that will work silently 24/7 to backup all your valuable files so that in the unfortunate event of disaster your digital life is not lost”.

A successful Kickstarter campaign will allow BoltKey to push the product into its final phase and on to the wider consumer market. The funds will go directly towards final testing, user interface upgrades, materials and the production of a limited batch of the GUARDIAN. This first batch will be individually numbered and enable buyers to participate in future product developments. Upon the campaign closing the GUARDIAN units will be produced immediately and shipped globally in Fall 2014.
