#1: Form 1, 3D Printer

Form 1 is the most successfully funded technology campaigns on Kickstarter so far. Started on September 26, 2012 until October 26, 2012, it officially pulls in more than $2.9 million from 2,068 backers. Created by Formlabs, Form 1 is the first low cost 3D printers in the market during that period of time. Although 3D printing is not a new concept, what really spurs the success of this campaign is the ability to get professional quality 3D printers at the fraction of the cost. Besides, kudos to the marketing team behind Form 1 for the perfect timing. They manage to insert themselves into the beginning of a blooming industry before it is too late.

#3: 3Doodler: The World’s First 3D Printing Pen

Who can forget the hype the 3Doodler caused when it was first introduced to the public? The demo video instantly becomes viral overnight.
