The SEC will announce the final rules regarding Title III of the Jobs Act on Friday, October 30. The regulations will mark the completion of the bi-partisan bill that was signed into law over three years ago. FINRA also recently filed a proposed rule change with the SEC in order to adopt the final rules relating to Title III crowdfunding “funding portals.” Details can be found through this link: http://www.finra.org/sites/default/files/rule_filing_file/SR-FINRA-2015-040.pdf
The final FINRA rules have a few notable changes, but seem to be aligned closely with the proposed rules.
The SEC meeting agenda:
The Commission will consider whether to adopt rules and forms related to the offer and sale of securities through crowdfunding under Section 4(a)(6) of the Securities Act of 1933, as mandated by Title III of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act.
The Commission will consider whether to propose amendments to Securities Act Rule 147 and Rule 504.
Title III will bring a huge change in the investment world that was previously only accessible for venture capitalists and angel investors. With the final Title III ruling it will be possible for not just the wealthy, but every individual, to invest in startups.
