Sara Castellanos | Boston Business Journal | UpStart.biz | March 7 2014 – The UpTake: Shereen Shermak, CEO of venture firm Launch Angels, says the fundraising picture for startups led by females is getting brighter, thanks to sites like CircleUp and Indiegogo.
Female entrepreneurs might not be raising as much venture capital as their male counterparts, but they are succeeding at online equity crowdfunding and becoming more prominent in startup incubator programs.
That’s according to Shereen Shermak, CEO of Boston-based venture capital firm Launch Angels, who spoke about women and venture capital at an event March 4.
Women entrepreneurs are finding it easier to raise money through online crowdfunding campaigns, using websites like Indiegogo and CircleUp, she said at the event.
