The past year has been an incredibly humbling and inspiring one for the Crowdtilt team as we’ve watched you guys save lives, tilt hundreds of heartwarming fundraisers, cross thousands of ama–zing points off your bucket lists, and launch products, amazing memories and more. It’s our dream to make it beautifully easy for groups to do things together — and you guys have astounded us this past year!
(We see 2013 as the first taste of an incredibly delicious full-course feast of crowdfunding. Can’t wait to see what 2014 will hold…)
Here are some of our most memorable campaigns of 2013! Let’s #gettilted…
inspired internet raised $50,000 in 3 days
Compassionate strangers from eight countries and 42 different states chipped in to help. The humbling effort to help David Henneberry took the nation by storm and was covered in TIME, The Huffington Post and more. See the campaign here and read David’s humbling thank-you letter here!
$73k raised by TMNT fans to turn a pipe dream into reality!
Jared Guynes is an everyday dude (well, he’s a bit special) who used Crowdtilt to raise $76,000 to reunite famous “Ice, Ice Baby” rapper Vanilla Ice with the Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles in a crowdfunded concert of epic proportions!
From the insane set list Jared inspired, to the prank-y “Black Friday” sale that perfectly captured his hustling spirit and made us “lol” for reals, to the amazing support and childhood nostalgia it rallied and the way even famous actors (from the movie itself!) clamored to join the event, we were in awe of the way Jared took this insanely epic pipe dream and found others who believed in it, too. Jared’s positivity, dedication and crazy antics made our year! Check out his campaign here.
$82k raised by 900+ neighbors!
This sign says it all. In an inspiring outpouring of community passion and love, 900+ residents of small Edwardsville, IL raised $82,452 in four days to keep their beloved toy store alive!!
Hard times had fallen upon this small local business — but crowdfunding allowed its dedicated neighbors to fundraise in a powerful and viral way, as they raced to save the store before the foreclosing deadline. Read their incredibly inspiring story here.
