“The bank’s cash is constipated for both profit and not-for-profit businesses.” said Connie Jay, an author and trainer on crowdfunding.
Crowdfunding is the collective effort of people who network and pool their money and other resources together to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations. These supported efforts can be anything from disaster relief and non-profit support or startup companies seeking funds. “Crowdfunding is the people’s funding solution.” she said.
With the rise of websites such as Kickstarter.com, IndieGoGo.com, or StartSomeGood.com, as well as, expanded approval by the FTC; Jay believes that crowdfunding will be responsible for over 1-million entrepreneurs and causes getting funded in the next decade.
“With austerity coming to the US through sequestration and threats to social security though chained CIP, non-profits and ministries know they’re on their own” she said having intimately studied several of the most successful crowdfunding campaigns, “However, this new system requires new thinking, new training.”
Jay set on creating a Wealth Transfer Summits throughout the state so Michigan gets its share of those 1-million funded dreams. The inaugural event is scheduled in Muskegon at the GVSU MARED Building on May 4th. “There was no better day to begin especially since the event is designed for entrepreneurs, churches, and ministries.”
